Daniel Styka has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. He has spent the last 25+ years serving clients in the construction and real estate industries and preparing individual income tax returns.

Dan graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. He passed the CPA exam in 1999 and has been a licensed CPA since. Dan is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society.

Dan founded Steffens & Styka PC in January of 2009 with his business partner Dennis Steffens.

Michael Cieslak

Michael graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Michael has over 30 years of experience in the accounting industry. He has been an auditor and senior accounting manager in public accounting. He was also a controller and CFO for two general contractors and a construction subcontractor prior to joining Steffens & Styka full time in 2016. He has an extensive background in construction and works with clients with his unique knowledge of internal and external accounting. Michael is proficient in income tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. He also has worked with several different construction software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office products.

Erin Mattes

Erin graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Erin has over 13 years of experience in auditing, primarily in the field of compliance, prior to joining Steffens & Styka. Erin also has an extensive background in customer service and working collaboratively with clients, attorneys and other industry professionals. Erin is knowledgeable in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.

Pat graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She passed the CPA exam and began her career as an auditor with KPMG, focusing on commercial and governmental clients. She has previous experience in city government, retail accounting, and financial institutions, serving as accounting managers and controllers. Pat has also worked per diem for 30 years, primarily in partnership and individual tax return preparation. She is knowledgeable about QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
